After we were told by the Police Municipale that we couldn’t sleep in our
spot at Gruissan we moved to Port la Nautique. The next week’s forecast
is for light winds and so it was when we first woke but the wnw wind filled
into a nice breeze and a kiter was going well near the van. So as Mag made
the breakfast I took the kit off the roof and rigged my new 7m X-15 for the
first time – love the handling and look of these and would love a
5.2,5.8and 6.4 to match as these are all past their best! By the time I was
ready several school kids were having great fun learning to windsurf in
front of the van, sailing up from the big sailing school in the marina. I
had to walk a long way out to find some deep water but that was the wind
line too and I was soon planning all the way across the etang turning at
Bages – I made it past Bages a couple of time but the wind went light
behind the town. I had some nice runs and was enjoying the sail – I
don’t usually like etang sailing but when the wind was up I was getting
some nice speeds in the rolling waves and there were loads of big fish
jumping out everywhere:) I was out with a couple of French windsurfers in
the campervans just up the way but then the wind went very gusty dropping
all the time so called it a day after one and a half hours. It was then
back to the van tie everything on, have lunch, relax reading before setting
off on a top bike ride with Mag – top day :)
